Dewbow in a spiderweb

Sometimes rainbows can be found in spider's webs like this one. NOTE: There are interference arcs visible inside the bow as well. I have other images that show double dewbows that need to be resized.

  1. Hi Michael,

That's a nice dewbow you captured there. This last week or so, I've noticed diffraction like effects on my dog's fur,

I'm struggling getting decent photos because I don't have a macro lens. The effect is best seen slightly out of focus and is very reminiscent of a spider web in close up. What do you think, similar mechanism?

    Best,

    Alec

  2. Hey Alec

Yes thats a nice one there I also have done in past years where I take out of foucus pics of rainbows in single water drops with stunning results. I could see primary with lots of supernummeries and the secondary would have lots of supernummeries. Now about the diffraction in animal hair I.E. cat or dog hair I've seen that numerous times and spiderwebs as well. You name it I've seen it all!:)
