End of the Year Double Rainbows

Off and on rainshowers were coming and going and later on a small squall paseed through and I looked out the window and the sun was showing through and I had to move fast. When I got outside not only the primary but even the secondary bow was dazzling. This rivals the bows I got in April during the tornado outbreak in Alabama. This a great way to end 2011 and thats with a swt of well-developed rainbows

  1. Nice! I like the way that Alexander's band is quite prominent near the base of the bow and above the trees. I have had quite a few primary and secondary bows myself recently. They are like buses: none for ages then half a dozen arrive all at once! How many rainbows would you say you see in an average year? Looking back over my yearly stats I notice that I saw twenty primaries last year, seventeen of which I managed to photograph. With my recent observations I'm hoping to shatter that record next year if my luck holds out!
